Glancing out the window of the car, Eliana began to rethink not only her clothing choice but the idea of even going. Since the Ball had been postponed, she had been hoping that the usual group of press wouldn't be there. That hope was dashed and she sighed. The paparazzi was Sophia's limelight, not hers. They weren't even celebrities, just rich families. Apparently that was enough to warrant at least seven cameras outside of the ball.

"If I don't look at them, will they ignore me too?" She asked, glancing up at her date. He always seemed so much more at ease at these kind of things even though he didn't seem to like them all that much. It looked like they were among the first ones there, at least from the group of magic power wielding people.

That little fact was actually surprising. Her uncle was never one to arrive even fashionably late and Jason was never late to a party. It took a moment to remind herself that he was trying on a new, more serious persona. It was the very reason that his gift from her summer trip was still hidden in her room. "Ready?"
